We Won Gold — Best Art Gallery in Montreal 2025! 🥇


The Suburban Newspaper’s Best of Montreal contest has officially wrapped up — and thanks to you, we are proud to announce that we have won Gold for Best Art Gallery!

Three years ago, we were named Montreal’s Best Overall Art Gallery. Last year, we finished in second place. And this year… we came back stronger and brought home Gold!

Francine and I — along with everyone who works with us — are incredibly grateful, especially because we moved the gallery from the Old Port of Montreal, to our new location in Pointe Claire. Our gallery has always been about creating a welcoming, family-friendly space where everyone feels at home, whether you're purchasing a painting or simply stopping by to enjoy the art.

This award belongs to all of us. Thank you for voting, for believing in us, and for being part of our artistic community.

Le concours Best of Montreal du journal The Suburban est maintenant terminé — et grâce à vous, nous avons officiellement remporté la médaille d’or dans la catégorie Galerie d’Art !

Il y a trois ans, nous avions été nommés meilleure galerie d’art de Montréal. L’an dernier, nous avons terminé en deuxième place. Et cette année… nous sommes revenus en force — et avons remporté l’Or !

Francine et moi-même, ainsi que toute notre équipe, sommes profondément reconnaissants, d'autant plus que nous avons déménagé la galerie de Vieux Montréal vers notre nouvelle adresse à Pointe-Claire. Cette galerie est, et restera toujours, une galerie familiale où tout le monde est le bienvenu — que vous veniez acheter une Å“uvre ou simplement profiter de l’art.

August, 2025 GOODBYE MY OLD PORT GALLERY FRIENDS & THANK YOU ALL! Dear friends, This post is a bit late… it short of got lost in the move but better late than never!!!  LOL! Francine and I have met so many wonderful people since we  opened our gallery 12 years ago at 367 Rue St-Paul Est. As we prepare to move to 49A Donegani in Pointe-Claire, we want to express our deep appreciation to some of the incredible individuals who helped make our time in Old Montreal such a success. First, a huge shoutout to FARD, our landlord, owned by Fred Shahrabani and his family. Fred has been the best landlord I’ve encountered in my 47 years with Rideau and during our 12 years on St-Paul. He, along with his siblings Danny and Rosie, supported us through St-Paul’s road closures, COVID, and so many other challenges. MY FAVOURITE MUSEUM IN THE WORLD - MON MUSÉE PRÉFÉRÉ AU MONDE

English Version - *version française dessous*   MY FAVOURITE MUSEUM IN THE WORLD   Francine and I have visited many museums during our travels but, without a doubt, our favourite is Musée D’Orsay in Paris.   Situated on the Left Bank of the Seine, it was originally a train station.  In 1970 the plan was to demolish the structure and build a hotel but the then Cultural Minister killed the plan, and the building ended up on the list of Historic Monuments.  In the late 70’s it was decided to convert it into a museum that would bridge the gap between the Louvre and more modern Georges Pompidou Centre which housed contemporary and modern art.     The first time I visited the museum was in 1996, ten years after it opened. I was with my dad and eldest son Jonathan.  We were together on a “boys” trip and had a brief layover in Paris.  I will never forget walking into the main hall of the Museum, it was so beautiful and different...

WE ARE MOVING! - NOUS DÉMÉNAGEONS!

  English Version - *version française dessous*      WE ARE MOVING!     It is with much excitement that I’m pleased to announce we will be moving our gallery and my studio from 367 Rue St-Paul Est in the Old Port of Montreal to 49A Donegani in Pointe-Claire .   Francine and I opened our gallery on May 18th, 2013 . It was meant to be a five-month pop-up, with plans to close at the end of October. Our goal was to sell 50 paintings by then—but we reached that milestone by the end of June ! By the end of the summer, Francine and I decided to keep the gallery open for at least one year. That one year turned into twelve beautiful years !   Since then, we’ve sold nearly 2,300 paintings to over 1,800 collectors in more than 30 countries around the world!   Of course, our twelve years on St-Paul came with some real adventures and challenges.
